Fall Baseball

The Los Gatos Little League will sponsor a fall training and development program for players ages 9-11 that will run from Sept. 7-Nov. 2.

The program will feature a nine-game season with games played on Sundays at Balzer Field, and is open to all players in the age division who either played in the league's major division last season or hope to play in the majors next year.

The fee is $45 per player, which includes insurance, a T-shirt and a cap. The registration deadline is Aug. 22. For more information, call Ken Rodriguez at 395-3595 or Randy Frey at 356-1424.

Soccer coaching course offered

The Los Gatos United Soccer League will offer an "F" licensing course for soccer coaches on Aug. 22, 6:30-9:30 p.m., and Aug. 23, 8 a.m.- 4 p.m., at Fisher Middle School in Los Gatos.

The course is introductory, and no pre-requisites are required. The cost is $20. For more information, call Amy Stacke at 358-9289, ext. 5.

'49er Special'

Going to a San Francisco 49ers game? Well, why not leave the car at home? The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority is making that possible by providing direct bus service to all home games.

Buses will depart the Capitol Light Rail Station in San Jose at 10:05 a.m.; Kmart on Fruitdale in San Jose at 10:25 a.m.; Stevens Creek and Finch (Tandem) in Cupertino at 10:40 a.m.; and VTA/River Oaks in San Jose at 10:50 a.m. for 1 p.m. games (departure times are 3:05 p.m., 3:25 p.m., 3:40 p.m., and 3:50 p.m., respectively, for 6 p.m. games).

The fare is $13 for a round-trip ticket ($6.50 one way), and a season pass can be purchased in advance for $80.

soccer camps

A summer soccer camp for youth ages 9-14 will be held Aug. 25-29, 2-5 p.m., at West Valley Community College in Saratoga. The cost is $60 per player. For more information, call Rob Gilmore at 987-9181.
