The 1996-97 season of Los Gatos Community Concerts kicks off Sept. 29 with the Banjomania band. The quartet consists of three musicians plucking the banjos and one bass/sousaphone player.
Other artists scheduled for the coming season include soprano Bridget Hooks on Jan. 12, cellist Zvi Plesser on Feb. 16 and "Ragtime Man" Max Morath on April 20. All concerts take place at 2:30 p.m. on Sundays in the Los Gatos High School auditorium.
Officers for the Community Concert Association for 1996-97 are Ron Knapp and Norman Stoner, co-presidents; Jack Lucas and Lea Frey, first vice presidents and concert co-chairs; Ruth Caps, second vice president and membership chairwoman; Jean Nelson, third vice president and publicity chairwoman; Berit Cattolico, secretary; and Dr. William Frey, treasurer.
New board members serving three-year terms are Karen Engelbrecht, Olwen Grespan, Craig Heimbichner, Earl Keener, Don Weller and Tom Warren.
