Real estate firm holds fundraiser
More than 3,400 Realtor associates and professional staff members of Coldwell Banker, a real estate services provider with 80 offices in Northern California, came together recently to organize and execute a raffle to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Among those offices is the one at 449 N. Santa Cruz Ave.
The six-week event brought in $99,130, which will go toward Coldwell Banker's year-end donation to Habitat for Humanity and the nonprofit organization's construction projects for 2002. Many Coldwell Banker agents are also volunteers helping Habitat for Humanity's current building projects.
"Through the years, our sales associates and staff have developed a long list of charitable benefits to which they have donated a considerable amount of energy and resources," says Avram Goldman, Coldwell Banker's Northern California president and CEO. Habitat for Humanity is also the real estate company's official corporate charity.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit housing organization founded in 1976 to provide simple, decent, affordable houses for people in need of shelter. Since its inception, the organization and its volunteers have built more than 100,000 houses in more than 60 countries, including some 30,000 homes in the United States.
