    Wildcats' Action

Los Gatos is still more than a week away from opening the 1999 high school football season.

But for those who want to get a preview look at the '99 Wildcats, Los Gatos will battle Overfelt in a scrimmage on Sept. 3 at Helm Field.

Frosh-soph teams will collide at 5 p.m. at Gatos, with the varsity teams scheduled to take the field at 7 p.m.

The Los Gatos season opener is set for Sept. 11 at Leland. Frosh-soph teams kick off at 10:30 a.m., with the varsity clash at 1 p.m.

Friday's scrimmage will pit father against son, with Butch Cattolico leading the Wildcats into action against the Royals, coached by Joe Cattolico.

A complete preview of the Los Gatos football team will appear in next week's issue of the Weekly.

    LG Fall Ball

Los Gatos Little League will be holding sign ups for its Fall Ball program over the next few weeks.

Fall Ball is for competitive level players, and is part of Little League Baseball's training and development program. It offers players an informal setting of one game each Sunday during the off-season.

Fall Ball is offered to returning major division players, as well as those who strive to compete at the major division level in 2000. There will be two divisions, one for players who will be 11 or 12 next season and the other for players who will be 9 or 10.

Sign-up forms are being mailed this week to all players who participated in the major division program last season, as well as to players who participated on last year's 8-year-old and 9-year-old tournament teams.

Others interested in participating should call Randy Frey at 356-1424 and request a registration form. Cost of play is $35, which includes a T-shirt and an 11-week season. Play will begin on Sunday, Sept. 12.
