Richard and Mavis Franks of Los Gatos announce the engagement of their daughter, Jayne Louise Franks, to Randall Thomas Smith, son of Rosita Smith of Sacramento.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Los Gatos High School and UC-Santa Barbara. She is a financial analyst with Pacific Advisory Group in Atherton.

Her fiancé is a graduate of Rio Americana High School and UC-Berkeley. He is an assistant project manager with Fair Isaac in San Rafael.

They plan a May 1999 wedding.
