1300 Pollard back to Planning Commission

Councilmembers sent Cypress Homes' application for an apartment complex at 1300 Pollard Road back to the Planning Commission Sept. 8. The council instructed that the 15 units be placed closer to Pollard and away from the condominium complex behind the property.

Some residents of that complex complained about increased noise from a driveway planned along the back edge of the property, but the site topography would make it hard to put the driveway anywhere else, developer Ken Olcott said.

The council also held off on blocking developments proposed for the North Forty before the specific plan for that area is completed.

Instead, Mayor Linda Lubeck said it would make more sense not to halt development entirely, but rather to look extra hard at applications submitted for the area and make sure developments that come in before the North Forty Specific Plan is finished adhere to guidelines in the Los Gatos Boulevard Plan and the general plan.

Winchester Blvd. gets roadwork

Road work will close parts of Winchester Boulevard between Daves Avenue and Division Street from Monday, Sept. 21, to Thursday, Oct. 1. The work is a continuation of the structural repairs started last summer.

Drivers should use alternate routes to avoid delays between 6 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Detours will be posted near the work areas.

Because Winchester cuts through both municipalities, the work is a joint project of the town of Los Gatos and the city of Monte Sereno.

For information on the locations of crews, call 399-5770 between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
