Tibetan carpet weaver at store opening

As part of its grand opening festivities on Sept 21 and 22, the home furnishings and interior design showcase The Rose Collection will host Tibetan master carpet weaver Jampa Tenzing.

Tenzing will demonstrate the weaving and knotting techniques used in creating the vibrant look of traditional Tibetan rugs. Rugs will also be available for purchase.

The Rose Collection owner Cherie Rose opened her store in downtown Los Gatos in the spring of 1996, after a fire ended many years of business under the same name in downtown Willow Glen. She is a certified interior designer and member of the American Society of Interior Designers.

As part of the grand opening, Rose is donating one of her signature design sofas in a raffle; money raised will benefit the San Jose Symphony. The weekend celebration runs Sept. 21 to 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 155 N. Santa Cruz Ave. For more information, call The Rose Collection at 395-5445.
