Fast-pitch reunion

Burks leads Badgers
Anthony Burks knocked in a pair of goals off of assists from Geoff Hubbard and Derek Doyle to lead the Badgers to a 2-1 victory over the Elks in boys' under-12 recreational division play in the Los Gatos United Soccer League.
Michael Jones and Thomas Armstrong were other offensive stars in the win, and Victory Larsson, Courtney Roberts and Adam Polizzi were solid defensively.
Teams interested in having their soccer results published should drop off game information at the Los Gatos Weekly Times office, 245 Almendra Ave.
Youth football
The teams of the Los Gatos Pop Warner Football Assoc. will head to Oak Grove for four games on Sept. 21.
The Tigers (junior pee wee division) kickoff at 9 a.m., followed by the Bobcats (pee wee) at 10:45 a.m., the Cougars (junior midget) at 12:30 p.m., and the Panthers (midget) at 2:15 p.m.
Junior basketball
Los Gatos National Junior Basketball is currently looking for players for the 1996-97 season. Signups will be accepted Sept. 17, 7-9 p.m., at the Blossom Hill School cafeteria.
The program features divisions for third-fourth graders, fifth-sixth graders and seventh-eighth graders.
Third-fourth grade division players are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Returning fourth graders have priority, but it is estimated that there will be more than 20 positions available for new players.
Players in the upper-level programs must attend talent assessment sessions on Oct. 6 and 13.
The registration fee is $150 per player. For information, call Grant Rollin or Peggy DellaRocchetta at 764-9760.
