Alain Pinel will oversee the Coldwell Banker SV offices
Coldwell Banker has named real estate veteran Alain Pinel to oversee the company's offices in Silicon Valley, the nation's hottest real estate market.
The announcement expands Pinel's management duties at Coldwell Banker. He will continue to serve as senior vice president and regional manager for the San Francisco and Peninsula offices, in addition to the 11 Silicon Valley offices.
"We're thrilled to have someone of Alain's caliber to lead our
operations in this important region," said Avram Goldman, president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Northern California. "Alain is very well-respected in the industry. I'm convinced that his creativity, energy and enthusiasm, and understanding of the Silicon Valley market--particularly the luxury market--will take this dynamic region to a whole new level."
"Coldwell Banker is the premier real estate brokerage in the Valley, but we have no intention of sitting on our reputation," Pinel said. "Our goal is to continue to grow by offering what has become known in the company as 'truly remarkable service.' When you're dealing with the Silicon Valley market, anything less just isn't good enough."
A 25-year veteran of the real estate industry, Pinel took a roundabout way to getting to where he is today. A native of Paris, Pinel began his career as a political writer for the French daily newspaper, L'Aurore, covering Congress and the Prime Minister. Over the next six years he wrote for several leading French newspapers and magazines.
Pinel decided to move to California and launch a new career in real
estate in 1976, joining Peninsula brokerage Fox & Carskadon. He became a managing broker in Saratoga in 1979, was promoted to regional manager and senior vice president in 1984, and became executive vice president and general sales manager of the company in 1985.
After leaving Fox & Carskadon in 1990, Pinel formed Alain Pinel
Realtors Inc., a residential brokerage that still bears his name. He left his firm in 1991 to return to France, where he served as the sales and marketing director of the largest real estate investment corporation traded on the French stock exchange.
In 1995, Pinel returned to the Bay Area and joined Coldwell Banker as senior vice president and West Bay regional manager. "When I looked around at all the opportunities in the real estate market, Coldwell Banker stood out," Pinel recalled. "Its reputation for professionalism and service, and its leadership position in the marketplace, made Coldwell Banker an easy choice for me."
