Registrar needs poll workers The Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters is recruiting poll workers to staff more than 1,000 county polling places on election day, Nov. 3. Training is provided at different times and dates in several locations throughout the county. Poll workers receive a stipend of $60 to $95. District holds Prop. 8 info night The Los Gatos Union School District Home and School Club is hosting a meeting for voters who want to learn more about Proposition 8, the Permanent Class Size Reduction and Educational Accoun-tability Act of 1998. The statewide ballot initiative deals with several issues related to public schools, including class-size reduction, parent-teacher counseling, teacher credentialing and pupil suspension for drug possession.
