The Vikings will host Sierra College in a 3 p.m. game on Sept. 25 in Saratoga, and the Dons host Yuba a day later at 1 p.m. in Cupertino. WVC women run to team win The West Valley Community College women's cross country team romped to a title at the Sierra Invitational last weekend in Rocklin. WVC's Rosemarie Lagunes covered the 5,000 meters in 19:13 to finish second overall in the 91-runner field. Rachael Wiseman was seventh in 20:48 with Mary Vidovich 12th in 21:13, Serena Delaplace 15th in 21:17 and Heidi Jones 28th in 22:30. Juan Pablo Miramontes rambled to an individual win in the men's race for the Vikings, running 21:09 over the four miles. Carousel To Coaster Run The annual Carousel-to-Coaster Run returns to the Great America amusement park in Santa Clara on Sept. 27, 8:30 a.m. The event features a 10K run and 5K walk. Cost is $20 and includes a race shirt (while supplies last). Registration is set for 7-8 a.m. on race day. For information, call 984-3257. Roller Hockey The Silicon Valley Quakes, a traveling roller hockey team, will hold try-outs for the 10-and-under and 8-and-under groups (ages as of Dec. 31, 1998) on Oct. 3 and 10, 2:30-4:30 p.m. each day, at the Gremic Roller Hockey facility at 401 Jackson St. in San Jose. Gremic also hosts an in-house league, with games played Sunday mornings. For information, call Dave Inouye at 978-3579. Punt, Pass & Kick The annual NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition for boys and girls will be held on Oct. 4, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Camden Activities Center at Camden Avenue near Union.
