Doing Something About the Problem

Lots of people complain about dirty sidewalks and disreputable planter boxes in downtown Los Gatos; Gary Schloh does something about it. Early risers know that Schloh prowls around early on Saturday mornings cleaning debris, pulling weeds and generally tidying up the planters. He took on the responsibility as an active member of the Los Gatos Downtown Association; although the LGDA currently is inactive, he hasn't been deterred. As chairman of civic improvement for the Los Gatos Lions Club, he bridged the gap between the two organizations recently by prevailing on fellow Lions to help him rebuild the broken-down planter box in front of the Los Gatos Cinema. Schloh (at right) works with (from left) Roger Dodge, Don Davies and George Shannon.
