Police Report

Grand theft--Sept. 12, 5:11 p.m. on Anne Way. The caller's cellular phone was stolen when he had company visiting. Police took a report.

Suspicious people--Sept. 12, 10:59 p.m. at Cherrystone Drive and Cherry Blossom Lane. A caller reported two girls who appeared to be lying in the street; the caller was concerned they may be intoxicated. Police contacted the girls, who were out taking a walk.

Harassment--Sept. 13, 10:22 a.m. on National Avenue. Someone had been calling a business's employee, using obscenities and making threats. Police took a report.

Disturbance--Sept. 13, 4:04 p.m. on Pine Avenue. A caller wanted to talk with police about a neighbor who often harasses neighborhood children. Police gave advice.

Vehicle accident--Sept. 13, 6:05 p.m. at S. Santa Cruz Avenue and Wood Road. Police took a report at the site of a crash between two cars.

Theft--Sept. 13, 8:38 p.m. on Pollard Road. A juvenile stole beer from a store and fled in a gray sport utility vehicle. Police took a report.

Drunk in public--Sept. 14, 1:14 a.m. on N. Santa Cruz Avenue. Following a verbal confrontation at a bar, police contacted and arrested an intoxicated patron for public drunkenness.

Disturbance--Sept. 14, 11:29 p.m. at Belgatos Lane and Westhill Drive. A caller complained of loud music coming from a party and numerous cars parked in the area. Police contacted the host, who turned off the music.

Alarm--Sept. 15, 1:37 p.m. on Spring Street. Police responded to a residential alarm and discovered a resident's small child accidentally set it off.

Drunk in public--Sept. 15, 6:43 p.m. on N. Santa Cruz Avenue. A shoeless man was seen staggering around, grabbing poles and going through trash cans. Police contacted him and arrested him for public drunkenness.

Suspicious person--Sept. 16, 11:32 a.m. on Garden Hill Drive. A caller saw a naked man wading in the creek. He was gone when police arrived.

Alarm--Sept. 16, 10:21 p.m. on Hicks Road. Police responded to a commercial alarm and discovered a janitor had accidentally activated it.

Reckless driving--Sept. 17, 8:24 a.m. on Roberts Road. A caller advised police of a white van whose driver appeared to be intoxicated or was simply a very poor driver. Police did not locate the van.

Meet the citizen--Sept. 17, 6:23 p.m. on N. Santa Cruz Avenue. The caller's son stole an item from a store. Although the store personnel settled the matter with the caller, the caller wanted police to talk to the boy about stealing. Police arrived and counseled the boy.

Disturbance--Sept. 17, 8:22 p.m. on Belwood Lane. A neighbor complained of a large group singing or chanting nearby. Police drove through the area but did not hear anything.
