Junior Basketball

Los Gatos National Junior Basketball is still looking for players for the 1996-97 season.

The highly competitive program features divisions for third-fourth graders, fifth-sixth graders and seventh-eighth graders. Openings remain in all but the third-fourth grade boys' division.

The registration fee is $150 per player, and applications are available at Mail Boxes Etc. For more information, call Grant Rollin or Peggy DellaRocchetta at 764-9760.

Punt, Pass and Kick

Boys and girls ages 8-15 are invited to participate in the annual Punt, Pass and Kick competition to be held Oct. 13 at the Camden Activities Center in San Jose. For more information on the free event, call 277-5556.

Vikes beat Harnell

Mark von Behren pitched in six goals to lead the West Valley Community College men's water polo team to a 22-5 nonconference victory over Hartnell last week.

Former Los Gatos stars John Etheridge and Lance Campbell each scored goals for the Vikes in the win over Hartnell.

Fast-pitch Reunion

The players who made up the "Night Ball" fast-pitch softball teams of the 1940s and '50s in Los Gatos are getting together again--for a reunion.

The get-together is scheduled for Sept. 25 at the Villa Felice. For more information, call John Boitano at 354-0154, Mike Ferla at 356-3767 or Gene Tobar at 356-1578.

Great America Run

The annual Great America Carousel to Coaster Run returns to the local theme park Sept. 29, 8:30 a.m.

Participants will take off in 10K and 5K runs that begin and end in the parking lot on Great America Parkway and travel through the middle of the park.

The fee on race day is $20, and registration will be held from 7-8 a.m. T-shirts will be available while they last.
