Roulette joins HOPE Board
HOPE Rehabilitation Services Foundation has appointed a Los Gatan, along with three other individuals, as a new member of its board of trustees. Rebecca Roulette is the owner and president of San Jose's Courtesy Chevrolet. She participates as a volunteer in many local nonprofit organizations and service clubs, including the Junior League of San Jose and Eastfield Ming Quong.
The board develops resources for HOPE Rehabilitation Services through an annual campaign, special events, an endowment and the development of corporate partners. HOPE, established in 1952, provides job placement, work training, independent and supported living programs, a senior center, an infant program and other services to more than 2,000 children, adults and senior citizens with developmental disabilities in Santa Clara, San Benito, San Mateo, Santa Cruz and Monterey counties.
State commission appoints Los Gatan
Tony Cuschieri, a principal in the Campbell-based firm Sugimura and Associates/Architects, was appointed in August to the California Building Standards Commission's Code Advisory Committee. Sugimura works in the areas of architecture, planning, and interior and landscape design.
A resident of Los Gatos, Cuschieri now holds the title of architect member of the commission's Technical Code Advisory Committee for Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical and Energy. Cuschieri will serve a three-year term, during which time the committee will meet at least once per year in Sacramento, although it may be called together as often as the commission deems necessary.
