St. Mary's Church plans annual fair

The annual St. Mary's Country Fair fundraiser, "Circus of the Century," takes place Oct. 8-10 on the grounds of St. Mary's School, 219 Bean Ave. The event benefits St. Mary's Church, helps offset rising costs and keeps tuition reasonable for the church's elementary school students.

The fair begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with food and drink vendors, carnival-style games and prizes, amusement rides and live entertainment. An optional spaghetti dinner is also available.

Saturday's events include everything on Friday--except for the spaghetti--and also include wine-tasting from several local wineries and a boutique featuring arts, crafts and gift items from 25 local artisans. From 7 to 10 p.m. that night, the eclectic Joe Sharino Band gives a free concert.

On Sunday, an optional pancake breakfast is available from 8:30 to 11 a.m. At 1 p.m., amateur performers can compete for cash prizes in a talent show in front of celebrity judges.

For directions to the fair or more information, call the church offices at 408.354.3944.
