The frosh-soph clubs will open the night with a 5:15 p.m. game.
Cats host dinner
The Los Gatos girls field hockey team will host a steak dinner on Oct. 12, 5-7:30 p.m., in the patio room next to the small gym at the high school.
The cost of the dinner is $15 and includes steak, salad, beans, desert, soda and coffee. Tickets are available from Los Gatos field hockey players and will be sold at the door the night of the event.
Youth basketball
The Los Gatos-Saratoga Recreation Department will hold signups for the upcoming youth basketball league season for boys and girls in grades 3-6.

The season runs Jan. 5 through March 9, and all games will be played Saturdays at the Los Gatos High School and Fisher Middle School gyms. One-hour practices will be held once a week beginning Dec. 3. Players will learn techniques in dribbling, shooting, passing, offensive and defensive maneuvers, and teamwork.

Volleyball tryouts
The Apex Volleyball Club is currently holding tryouts for boys ages 12-18. No experience is necessary.
Practices will be held in Los Gatos and Saratoga, and teams will play weekend tournaments in Northern California.
For more information, call Louisa Scoggins, Los Gatos High School boys junior varsity volleyball coach, at 408.362.9005.
Raiders top Cats
Stefan Fowler scored on a 5-yard run and Richie Scudellari kicked the 2-point conversion to give the Los Gatos Wildcats an early 8-6 lead over the Morgan Hill Raiders in recent Pop Warner Football League play.
But the Raiders scored a touchdown in the second quarter and two more in the fourth to pull out a 24-8 victory over Los Gatos. The Wildcats slipped to 2-3 for the year with the loss.
Los Gatos lost more than the football game, though. The Wildcats lost the services of Fowler when he suffered a broken collarbone in the game.
Cameron Compton ended up as the leading ground gainer for the Cats. Scudellari was the top passer for Los Gatos and he also led the team in tackles. Willy Burns was the top receiver for Gatos.
