    Town Chamber presents award

    Cornerstone Shopping Center will receive an award on Oct. 11, at 10 a.m. from the Town of Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce for its well-kept, attractive appearance.

    The Chamber's beautification committee selects a different business four times a year, with the intent of encouraging business and property owners to beautify their storefronts.

    LWV stages media and politics dinner

    "Political Campaign & the Media," themes the League of Women Voters dinner Oct. 18 at 6:45p.m. at the Los Gatos Lodge. Featured speaker is Jim Bettinger, director of the John S. Knight Fellowships for Professional Journalists at Stanford University.

    The cost of the event is $25, and includes either a Chicken marsala or pasta primavera dinner. Call 408.867.VOTE for more information.

    KCAT and LGWT forum approaches

    The Los Gatos Weekly-Times/KCAT candidates forum with the four Los Gatos Town Council candidates will be aired live on Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. on KCAT-Channel 15.

    The 90-minute program will feature KCAT Director George Sampson, Weekly-Times Editor Dale Bryant and government reporter Nathan Huff asking questions of the four candidates--Paul Dubois, Mike Abkin, Sandy Decker and Steve Glickman.

    Taped repeats of the show are scheduled for: Oct. 20, at 6 p.m., Oct 23, at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 26, at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 31, at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 3, at 6 p.m. and Nov. 6, at 6 p.m.
