Los Gatos Weekly-Times Community concert season opens For the first concert of its 51st season, the Los Gatos-Saratoga Community Concert Association presents baritone LeRoy Villanueva on Nov. 8 at 2:30 p.m. in Los Gatos High School's Prentiss Brown Auditorium, located at 20 High School Court. His selections include Baroque and contemporary works as well as operatic arias. The young singer began his career in 1988, when he won the Metropolitan Opera National Auditions. That same year, he joined the Merola Opera program in San Francisco and won first prize in the program's grand finals. From this jumping-off point, Villanueva began performing operatic roles worldwide, including in France, Canada, Switzerland, Chile, Portugal, New Zealand and Italy.
