Health Fair set for LGHS lawn

A Health Fair will be held at Los Gatos High School on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the school's front lawn. More than 70 local and county agencies and representatives from health-related companies are expected to take part in the fair sponsored by the LGHS Parent Teacher Student Association.

The PTSA's goals for the event, which is held every other year, are to promote a healthy lifestyle, acquaint students with community resources, to support positive alternative activities and to have fun.

"We want to educate kids on healthy lifestyle options so they can make informed decisions," said Susan Lichte, a member of the PTSA Health and Welfare Committee.

Students in groups of 500 will rotate throughout the day, interacting with representatives from a number of organizations including the Red Cross, Teen Counseling Center and the American Heart Association. Noted author and speaker Jonathan Robinson, who wrote Power to Live Your Dream, is also scheduled to speak to students. The event is open to the community.
