Forum planned for LGUSD candidates

Candidates for the Los Gatos Union High School District will be on hand for an informal question-and-answer session on Oct. 19 in the Fisher Middle School auditorium from 7 to 9 p.m.

Brian Grasser, Barry Bakken, Andrew Fanelli, Steve Glickman and Thomas O'Donnell are running for three open seats on the board. Glickman and O'Donnell are incumbents.

Refreshments will be served at the event, which is sponsored by the LGUSD's Home and School clubs.

Mountain Lion Expo at Lake Vasona Park

The big cats are coming to Los Gatos. The Youth Science Institute in Vasona Park will be bringing mountain lions and other rare felines to the park's nature center on Oct. 18 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. for an informational session.

Lung Association offering flu shots

As the days get shorter and the weather gets colder, flu season is coming back again, bringing another winter full of runny noses, sore throats and other pesky symptoms.

Accordingly, the Visiting Nurses Association and the American Lung Association are teaming up to bring flu shots to Los Gatos.

Nurses will be on hand at Longs, 15710 San Jose-Los Gatos Blvd., on Oct. 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. and again on Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and at Price Low, 14405 Union Ave. on Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
