Los Gatos Weekly-TimesPolice seek robbery suspectBy Michelle Alaimo An unarmed robber made off with an undisclosed amount of money from the Bank of America at 333 N. Santa Cruz Ave. on Oct. 7, officials from the Los Gatos- Monte Sereno Police Department said. Capt. Duino Giordano said the man gave a demand note to a teller at 2:28 p.m. While no weapon was seen on the suspect, the note threatened that he had a weapon. The robber then placed the money in a brown leather bag that he was carrying and left through the front door. The suspect was last seen walking northbound on N. Santa Cruz Avenue, Giordano said. He added that an extensive search of the area by police turned up nothing. Eight people were in the bank at the time of the incident, Giordano said and two witnessed the robbery. The robber is described as a white adult male in his 20s, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing about 200 pounds. Giordano said police have unconfirmed reports that the robber is connected to a July 23 robbery of Wells Fargo Bank at 150 N. Santa Cruz Ave. And the suspect might also be connected to three other bank robberies in San Jose. In the July incident, the robber's method was the same except that he placed the money in an envelope before walking out of the bank. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information on this case is asked to call Detective Randy Bishop at 354-6825.
