Los Gatos Weekly-TimesNews BriefsFlick project due for completion at end of year Developer Dave Flick hopes to finish his three buildings at Main Street and University Avenue before the end of the year, he said. Construction work is on schedule, but PG&E and GTE are taking longer than expected to engineer and build phone and power connections for the buildings. Last week, the brand-new replica of the Soda Works building needed only to have its antique sign repainted. The wooden storefronts for Flick's largest building, The Plaza, were being crafted at Mulberry Woodworking in Santa Cruz. The Pucinelli house has been completely disassembled. Flick said it couldn't be moved from the foundation as planned because interior walls were too weak. When Flick builds a replacement building, he'll use the old exterior walls with new windows on three sides of the building. On the east side, a new wing will be added, with wood siding finished to match the older walls. The walls of the Puccinelli house currently are in storage in Saratoga. Council votes raise for town manager Town Manager Dave Knapp received a 9 percent salary increase with an Oct. 6 vote of the Town Council. The manager's salary now totals $9,031 per month; the raise is retroactive to Sept. 4, 1997. The increase matches pay raises accumulated by members of the Town Employees Association during fiscal years 1996-97 and 1997-98. The Town Council reviewed Knapp's performance in a Sept. 15 closed session and decided that his performance merited a raise. Knapp hasn't received a raise since 1995.
