Police Report

Suspicious person--Oct. 1, 6:55 p.m., on Los Gatos Boulevard. The caller saw a woman with dirty hair and clothes who was walking into traffic and talking to telephone poles. The caller suspected the woman was drunk or under the influence of drugs. Police searched the area but did not locate her.

Garbage complaint--Oct. 2, 2:36 p.m., on N. Santa Cruz Avenue. The caller reported that unknown individuals have been using a business' back parking lot as a dump for old couches and boxes filled with junk. Police will give the area extra patrol checks.

Accident--Oct. 3, 8:29 a.m., at Los Gatos-Saratoga Road and Monterey Avenue. Police took a report at the site of a collision between a truck and a small car.

Grand theft--Oct. 3, 8:38 p.m., on E. Main Street. Earlier in the evening, someone entered the caller's house and stole his wife's diamond ring. Police took a report.

Disturbance--Oct. 3, 10:15 p.m., at Fairview and Wadsworth avenues. The caller complained of a group of people laughing and yelling in a park. Police counseled and dispersed them.

Assault with a deadly weapon--Oct. 4, 1:20 a.m., on N. Santa Cruz Avenue. The management of a bar called police to report that bouncers were detaining a man who smashed a beer bottle on another patron's head, injuring the patron. Police arrested the bottle-wielding man.

Disturbance--Oct. 4, 1:52 a.m., on Los Gatos-Saratoga Road. The caller complained of a group of people partying in a parking lot. Police counseled the people, who said they would move inside.

Domestic disturbance--Oct. 6, 11:41 a.m., on Los Gatos Boulevard. Police responded to a call about a male and female arguing loudly and physically fighting in a restaurant's parking lot. Police contacted both parties and arrested the woman on charges of spouse beating.

Alarm--Oct. 6, 7:21 p.m., on University Avenue. Police responded to a commercial alarm and discovered that a cat inside an office building set off the alarm.
