Burks leads Badgers
Anthony Burks knocked in two goals and added an assist to lead the Badgers to a 4-2 win over the Huskies in the boys' under-12 recreational division of the Los Gatos United Soccer League.
Burks drilled a corner kick that Adam Nelson headed in for a goal. Geoff Hubbard added a goal and an assist and Nimi Rahimi chipped in with an assist.
Michael Jones and Nathan Kananen were other offensive standouts for the winners, and Victor Larsson and Adam Polizzi played well defensively.
Youth Basketball
The Los Gatos Youth Basketball League is currently holding signups for the 1997 season for boys and girls in the third through eighth grades.
The league, sponsored by the Los Gatos-Saratoga Recreation Department, will feature games on Saturdays from Jan. 4 through March 8 at both Los Gatos High and Fisher Middle School.
Registration will be held Oct. 21, 7-8:30 p.m., at the Los Gatos Recreation Center, 123 E. Main St. Mail and fax (395-3828) registration begins Oct. 28, and walk-in registration begins the same day at the Recreation Center. Office hours are 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Mon.-Fri. The registration deadline is Nov. 15.
The registration fee of $60 includes a T-shirt and picture. There is a $5 fee charged for nonresidents.

Little League Signups
The Los Gatos Little League will hold signups for the 1997 season on Nov. 13 and 20, 7-9 p.m., in the cafeteria at Fisher Middle School.
Youngsters ages 5-12 (as of July 31, 1997) are eligible for the league. Proof of age is required, and a September, October or November PG&E or water bill must be provided to prove residency.
The registration donation is $95 for the first child from a family and $75 for each additional child (with a maximum family donation of $200). The t-ball donation is $75 per child. For more information, call 977-3088.
