Officials discuss weed abatement Santa Clara County Supervisor Don Gage and other officials will hold a public discussion on Wednesday, Oct. 28, on alternatives to using herbicides for weed abatement on county roads. The meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. at Lakeside School. Earlier this year, some residents on Black Road cleared weeds instead of letting the county use an herbicide. Other county roads, however, were sprayed with the chemical, but neighbors are pushing for a nontoxic solution for the entire area.
