The Human Society of Santa Clara Valley warns pet owners to keep their animals confined inside on Oct. 31.
Numerous all-black or all-white cats become the victims of Halloween pranks each year--and some may even be seriously hurt, according to Marcia Mayeda, director of animal care services at the Humane Society.
Mayeda also warns that pets should not be allowed a share of children's Halloween candy, especially chocolate, which is poisonous to dogs.
