School board candidates file financial statements

Two candidates' filings not yet in

As of Oct. 15, only four candidates of the seven running for seats on Los Gatos' two downtown school-district boards had filed financial information documents with the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters.

Gail Schwartz, running in the Los Gatos Union School District race, had received a little more than $1,500 as of last week. She received $466 worth of contributions that were all less than $100. Four individuals donated $100 each, including LGUSD board member Steve Glickman. One individual provided a $500 loan, and another provided $200 worth of goods or services. The registrar did not have forms from Dorothy Rouse or Stephen Parsons.

In the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District race, Cassandra Huston had not yet raised more than $1,000 as of last week, and therefore was not required to file a report. Jackie Schmidt-Posner had raised enough to file a report, although the registrar did not yet have any itemized documents listing contributions and contributors. The registrar also had not received forms from Lorrie Wernick.

Lynne Bauer, a candidate for the high-school district, raised $1,300, consisting of several contributions of less than $100 each, $800 in monetary contributions and $500 worth of goods or services. Among Bauer's contributions was $100 from Los Gatos High School Principal Ted Simonson and $500 from the District Teachers' Association.
