The Best of Los Gatos 2001
Top-notch, tip-tip, cream of the crop, unsurpassed or peerless--the wording may change, but the meaning remains the same--what follows is the very best Los Gatos has to offer. After hundreds of eager voters had their say, certain local people, places, things and ideas emerged as the most popular for 2001.What are the best places to satisfy one's hunger for edibles ranging from fast food to $200 cuisine? Los Gatos has plenty from which to choose! How about those loyal and intrepid public servants like police officers, firefighters, mail carriers and local politicians? They receive their deserved kudos as well. And let's not forget the many respites Los Gatos offers for our hectic lives, such as best massage, best facial, best place to work out and best place to escape cell phones!
Although the Best of Los Gatos strives to pay tribute to just about everything a town like ours could possibly offer, we do sometimes remove certain categories and add others. This year, as a reward for working through their ballots to the very end, voters got to write in which category they would most like to see in next year's ballot. The winner can be found at the end of the winners' list.
As usual in this annual tribute to the best Los Gatos has to offer, the readers made the choices with their votes in our Best of Los Gatos ballot. Our job was to count the ballots and write the stories. And now, without further ado, we proudly present the best!
