    Sports Briefs

    Softball Signups

    The Los Gatos-Saratoga Girls Softball Association will hold signups for the spring 2002 season on Nov. 6 and 13, 7-9 p.m., at Fisher Middle School in Los Gatos and Nov. 14 and 15, 6-9 p.m., at the Saratoga Community Center.

    The league is open to girls ages 7-15. For more information, call 408.370.0426.

    Halloween Run

    The annual Halloween Run returns to Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy on Oct. 27. Registration begins at 7:30 p.m. with the 5K run to begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 10K to get under way at 9 a.m. There will be awards for the best costumes.

    The fee is $15 ($22 with a race T-shirt). For more information, call 408.683.4683 or email wflodberg@aol.com.

    Baseball Signups

    The Los Gatos Little League and Los Gatos Pony/Colt Baseball will hold signups for the 2002 season on Nov. 6 and 13, 7-9 p.m., in the gym at Fisher Middle School.

    Age levels are 5-12 for Little League baseball, 13-14 for Pony League and 15-16 for Colt League.

    Youth Basketball

    The Los Gatos-Saratoga Recreation Department is holding signups for the upcoming youth basketball league season for boys and girls in grades 3-6.

    Mail, fax and walk-in registration (no phone-in registration will be accepted) runs through Nov. 9, or until leagues are full.

    The season runs Jan. 5 through March 9, and all games will be played Saturdays at the Los Gatos High School and Fisher Middle School gyms.
