Live Oak senior center gets new site manager

By Shari Kaplan

Although it lost its longtime site manager when Eleanor Vora retired this summer, Los Gatos' Live Oak Senior Nutrition and Service Center has gained someone new--Deborah Hall Kranefuss, who joined the Live Oak staff in September to fill Vora's position.

Kranefuss, who holds a bachelor's degree in physical therapy and a master's in health-services administration, has 20 years of experience in the health-care field. Her emphasis has been on physical therapy in acute, chronic, outpatient and home-care settings with patients of all ages.

She has helped with the development and presentation of community health-education programs for senior citizens in Santa Clara County. Through her involvement with the technical committee of the Mayor's Aging Leadership Council, a San Jose-based group, Kranefuss has worked with many countywide agencies that serve seniors.

The Live Oak Senior Nutrition and Service Center, established in 1974, currently serves on-site meals to 50 seniors and arranges for 55 homebound seniors to receive meals at their homes. The center also offers daily social, educational and cultural activities, health programs and referral and support services.

Kranefuss works at the center, which is located at 19 High School Court, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. She can be reached at 354-0707.
