Los Gatos Weekly-TimesThe ProwlerHalloween hasn't even come yet, but some groups are already thinking ahead to Thanksgiving and Christmas. That's probably a good idea, seeing as the holidays are notorious for sneaking up on us. Right around the corner is the annual Holly Daze gift and goodie boutique, sponsored by Community Against Substance Abuse. The boutique includes handmade jewelry, handmade stationery, dried flower wreaths, dolls, bears, decorated shirts, gift baskets, pottery, vintage children's clothing, angel-themed items, garden statues and--last but not least--food items such as chocolates, baked treats, jams, jellies and pickles. Take the daze out of the holidays with this one-stop shopping venue, 10 percent of whose proceeds benefit CASA. The boutique runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 1 and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 2 in the Los Gatos High School Cafeteria. The Christian Women's Club of San Jose and Los Gatos/Saratoga hosts its annual Harvest Faire on Nov. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Villa Felice Restaurant on Winchester Boulevard. Among the attractions is the Cornucopia of Treasures--the group's silent auction of arts, crafts, baked goods and holiday food. A singer will entertain, and there's free child care. A luncheon is also available. To make reservations for child care or lunch, call 927-6031 or 247-3119. As the Prowler said earlier, it's not even Halloween yet, so this cat must mention one more cool event. This food-loving feline hears there's free tiramisu at La Strada's Halloween dinner party on Oct. 30--but only for costume-wearers! Those in creative duds can also win a bottle of wine. There's even pumpkin ravioli on the menu!
