Doctor William Closson, seen riding the Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad, was among a group of 14 senior citizens from the Guardian Health Care Facility who enjoyed a barbecue and train rides Oct. 19, when the Los Gatos Lions Club hosted a Saturday afternoon event at Oak Meadow Park. Lion Dennis Roberts, whose father lives at Guardian, organized the event because he noticed many seniors--particularly those who are physically or mentally incapacitated--do not receive many visitors or have people to take them on outings. Roberts was joined by Lions Reed Graham and Chris Morris in serving up a free lunch that included hamburgers with all the fixings, rolls, macaroni, potato and green salads and fruit juice. Six Guardian caretakers also volunteered their time to help supervise the seniors.
