Los Gatos Weekly-TimesFanelli News BriefsMartial arts instructor joins LGUSD board Andrew Fanelli, a martial arts teacher who skipped a candidates' forum without explaining why, was elected--along with incumbents Steve Glickman and Thomas O'Donnell--to the Los Gatos Union School District board. With 77 percent of the votes counted, Fanelli nudged out Barry Bakken with 2,008 votes. Bakken, a LGUSD parent who has been active in the schools, and who currently serves as the president of the Los Gatos Elementary Educational Foundation, came in fourth with 1,607 votes, or 15.7 percent. Fanelli, who listed his occupation on the ballot as teacher, said he is looking forward to contributing to the district. In his campaign, he expressed a concern that students have too much homework. Ogilvie brings back hotel plan Eva Ogilvie will come back to the Planning Commission Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. with yet another redesign of her hotel and restaurant proposal for 220 W. Main St. The commission continued her application in September, asking that Ogilvie make several changes. Ogilvie has removed a 38-foot tower, reduced the building's height and removed a portico in front. Ogilvie also cut the restaurant seating from 460 to 166. Coffee planned with mayor Monte Sereno Mayor Suzanne Jackson will hold her last Coffee with the Mayor of her term Friday, Nov. 6, at 9:30 a.m. at Monte Sereno City Hall. Jackson's term expires Dec. 1.
