Chamber Mixer Nov. 16 at Lodge

The Town of Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce invites community members to come, business cards in hand, to the Nov. 16 after-hours mixer at the Los Gatos Lodge.

The event takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and feature food and a cash bar. The cost is $5 for members and $15 for nonmembers. The Los Gatos Lodge is at 50 Los Gatos-Saratoga Road. Call 408.354.9300 for more information.

    Shuttle service up and running

The town's holiday parking shuttle began operation on Nov. 1, ferrying employees and customers along a fixed route through downtown.

The shuttle, part of the town's holiday parking program aimed at preventing the parking crunch that occurred last holiday season, will run daily from 8 a.m. to midnight, through Dec. 24.

The shuttle runs from the town's Miles Avenue parking lot, up to University Avenue, heading south to Main Street, west to N. Santa Cruz Avenue, south to Royce Street, back to University, and finally down to the Miles Avenue lot.

    Book Discussion Group Meetings

Los Gatos residents are welcome to join the library's Book Discussion Group, which meets at the library on the second Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m.

Interested readers are requested to register, but visitors are always welcome. Each month a different book is read and discussed by the group.

Upcoming book-related discussions include Willa Cather's My Antonia on Nov. 8, and Lois Lowry's The Giver on Dec. 13. Call 408.354.6891 for more information.
