California Youth Symphony announces its 47th seasonFollowing many months of preparation for its 47th season, the California Youth Symphony, conducted by maestro Leo Eylar, is ready to show the fruits of its labors with its 1998-99 concert series. The CYS includes a handful of youths from the Los Gatos and Saratoga areas. The first concert takes place Nov. 15 at Flint Center in Cupertino and again Nov. 22 at the San Mateo Performing Arts Center. The traditional free holiday concert is set for Dec. 13 at the theater of Gunn High School in Palo Alto. The third concert takes place March 21 and 28 at the San Mateo and Cupertino venues, respectively, followed by the final concerts on May 9 and 23 at Cupertino and San Mateo, respectively. All concerts begin at 2:30 p.m. Season tickets are $40 per family. Tickets to individual concerts are $8 general admission, $4 for students and senior citizens and $16 for a family.
