Los Gatos Weekly-TimesThe ProwlerHappy Turkey Day! Although it's not quite Thanksgiving, this cat wants to extend warm wishes to all the readers who faithfully follow the Prowler's peregrinations. We all have many things for which to be thankful, and the Prowler is no exception. Artist and art instructor Amy Konsterlie, who lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains, would be thankful to have fans visit her current exhibit at 2wenty 9ine E. Main Cafe. Joining Konsterlie's trademark bright watercolors are color photographs by photographer Robert Ciacchella. Restaurant hours are 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The exhibit runs through Jan. 10. The Byington Winery and Vineyard, also tucked away in the Santa Cruz Mountains, holds its eighth annual Holiday Open House on Dec. 6 from noon to 4 p.m. The event includes a warm fire, holiday music, treats and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Soup-filled sourdough bread bowls will be available for sale, and visitors can sample new Byington wines. While in that neck of the woods, the Prowler suggests visiting one of the many Christmas tree farms in the mountains. For directions to Byington, call 354-1111 ext. 206. One more event in them thar hills is the Loma Prieta Arts & Crafts Faire, sponsored by the Loma Prieta Home and School Club. A benefit for the mountain school district of the same name, the Faire takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 12 and 13 at the Loma Prieta Community Center, 23800 Summit Road. It includes paintings, jewelry, fiber and textile arts, holiday ornaments, handmade soaps and botanicals, woodcraft, sculpture, glass art and handmade toys. There's also a bake sale and kids' attractions.
