    The Prowler

Just like the traditional Thanksgiving feast fills a table with a hodgepodge of different foods, the Prowler has decided to do likewise with this week's post-Turkey Day column.

Speaking of gluttony, this cat was thrilled to discover that a favorite treat--ice cream--is the topic of an 800 number this holiday season! Now through Jan. 5, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. weekdays Pacific time, Dreyer's Ice Cream's official ice cream taster John Harrison is fielding calls on his 'Cone Phone' about the frozen treat, at 800.582.6199. Known as 'the man with the million dollar taste buds,' Harrison shares tips, advice, recipes and anecdotes. The Prowler thinks this is a real hoot (or would that be a gobble?). Computer geeks can also email him at askjohnh@dreyers.com

One of the South Bay's most popular puppet troupes, Snapdragon Puppets, is coming to the Los Gatos Public Library for a holiday show featuring "Mousecracker" on Dec. 7, at 3:30 p.m. All ages are welcome. The library also offers an ongoing program on robots for older kids in conjunction with I Get It! Development. Students, ages 10-12, can take a free two-hour workshop and learn how to program robots using the LEGO Mindstorms Robotics Invention System Kits. Each youth must be accompanied by an adult. For more info, call 408.354.6893.

Finally the Prowler recommends visiting our Saratoga neighbor, Aegis Gallery, for its annual holiday show, which runs through Jan. 3, and features original arts and crafts by 25 member artists. Quite a few of them are Los Gatans, this cat is proud to say! The gallery is at 14531 Big Basin Way. Call 408.867.0171 for hours.
