What a season!
The fall season has been nothing short of spectacular for the athletic teams at Los Gatos High School, and it doesn't appear that the cheering is over quite yet.
The Los Gatos football and girls volleyball teams are still in action and chasing further fall glories, and the cross-country and field hockey teams have already achieved greatness.
The Gatos football team won the title in the De Anza Division of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League, and the Wildcats are trying to back that up with a Central Coast Section championship and their first 13-0 season in school history.
The Cats, 12-0 after a 20-0 win over Alvarez last Friday night, will play Wilcox for the CCS Division III championship on Dec. 2, 7 p.m., at San Jose PAL Stadium.
The girls volleyball team has already won a CCS Division III title, and the girls will play for the Northern California championship on Nov. 28, 7 p.m., when they host Sonoma Valley. The winner will play for the state championship on Dec. 2, 1:30 p.m., at Cypress College in Southern California.
The cross country teams at Gatos had incredible success in the fall of 2000. Both the boys and girls teams won CCS titles, and boys backed up their section crown with a first-place finish at the state meet last weekend.
And, finally, the
Los Gatos field hockey team played its way into the CCS finals before losing a 1-0 heartbreaker to Mitty.
