    Candlemakers

Students of Yavneh Day School and their families gathered Nov. 21 at the school on Oka Road in Los Gatos to make candles for the Chanukah celebration, which begins on the evening of Dec. 3. Sisters (left) Lyndsey, 6, and Brenna, 4, participated in the activity with their father, Mitch Askenas. Chanukah is a Jewish festival commemorating the rededication of the Temple by Judas Maccabaeus in 165 B.C.E.
