    Girls win Bobby Sox title

    Megan Medefesser and Megan Duits of Los Gatos were members of the Branham Hills Bobby Sox 10-and-under team that won the Bay Area Regional Division championship and earned a place in the Travelsox National Championship Tournament held last weekend in Buena Park in Southern California.

    Other members included Katherine Pisano, Molly McCarthy, Alison Geppert, Jessica Freedman, Melissa Baillif, Megan Regan, Alison Fivecoat, Coley Woyak, Whitney Terry and Christianna Stewart. The manager was Cindy Freedman and her coaches were Shelley Duits and Drew Medefesser. The team chaperone was Beth Woyak.

    The team will now look forward to the spring season. Girls living in Los Gatos, Saratoga, Cambrian Park and Almaden Valley, ages 5-15, are eligible to play in the Branham Hills Bobby Sox program. For more information, call 408.358.0044 or visit their website at www.bhbobbysox.org.

    Softball Tryouts

    The Lady Sharks will hold tryouts for their 18-and-under Gold summer softball team on Dec. 5 at West Valley Community College in Saratoga. Pitchers and catchers should report 10 a.m.-noon, with all other players reporting 12:30-3:30 p.m. For more information, call Kevin Newman at 408.224.6302.

    Pitching Program

    An eight-week fall pitching program for baseball players ages 9-12 will run Tuesday evenings, through Dec. 14, in the gym at West Valley Community College in Saratoga.

    The program teaches fundamentals, arm care and defensive skills. Players 9-10 attend at 7 p.m., players 11-12 at 8 p.m.

    Los Gatos Little League

    The Los Gatos Little League is open to boys and girls ages 5-12 (as of July 31, 2000). Call 408.977.3088 or view the league's website at www.lgll.org for more information.

    Girls Softball
