Nutcracker Sweets
A number of Los Gatos girls are appearing as various characters in the San Jose Dance Theatre's 36th annual production of the classic holiday ballet, 'The Nutcracker.' They are (back row, from left) Tori Boyert, Vanessa Driscoll and Sara Shue; (front row, from left) Aimee Tapia and Christine Hererra. As in the past, the San Jose Dance Theatre has cast children and teenagers in the majority of roles, including the main characters of Clara and the Nutcracker Prince. Music for the Holidays
Woodhaven West, the nonprofit community concerts sponsored by the First United Methodist Church of Los Gatos, presents A Celtic Christmas Concert with Golden Bough at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14. The trio is composed of (clockwise from upper left) Kathy Sierra, Paul Espinoza and Margie Butler. Golden Bough, who like to call themselves modern-day Celtic minstrels, play traditional music from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man, Galicia and French Brittany. Their songs, which include ballads, instrumentals, sing-alongs and original compositions, are played on the Celtic harp, Celtic drum, pennywhistle, guitar, violin, accordion and other instruments. The church is at 19 High School Court. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and youth and $4 for children under 12. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call 408.370.3037.
