Town seeks members for Senior Task Force

The town of Los Gatos is accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on the Senior Task Force established by the Town Council at its Dec. 6 meeting.

The task force's objectives include reviewing existing senior services and conducting an informal needs assessment to determine what senior services, programs or facilities may be lacking. The task force will prepare a report to the council summarizing its findings and recommended actions.

The filing deadline is Jan. 10 at 5 p.m. Applications are available at the town clerk's office, 110 E. Main St., or call 408.354.6834 for more information.

'Tis the season for a festive mixer

The Town of Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with McHugh Lincoln Mercury, will hold a Business After Hours Mixer on Dec. 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Cost is $5 for members, and $15 for nonmembers. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP. Call 408.354.9300 for more information.

Scott Baker moves to Pleasanton job

Scott Baker, Los Gatos director of parks and public works, is moving to the Big City--well, a bigger city, anyway.

    Baker has accepted
the position of deputy director of public works for the city of Pleasanton, but he will continue to live in Los Gatos.

Friends and co-workers last week honored Baker with a farewell party and roast at C.B. Hannegan's. Baker was commended for his role in the town's recovery following the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake and saving the Berry Farm house, now used as the town's service center. Baker
has worked with the town for some 10 years.
