    Annual parade produced great fun-and a winner's list

    Los Gatos couldn't have asked for better weather for the last Children's Christmas and Holiday Parade of the century. It was sunny and mild on Dec. 4, as the annual spectacle of floats, cars, bands, clubs and animals began the annual grand procession along N. Santa Cruz Avenue and W. Main Street. Parade winners are:

    Floats

    Commercial: Jiffy Market, first place; West Valley Gymnastics, second; and Southern Kitchen, third. Amateur over 12 years old: Church of Scientology, first; Los Gatos Yacht Club, second; Los Gatos Swim & Racquet Club, third. Amateur under 12 years old: St. Mary's School, first; Kiddie Kampus, second; Southwest YMCA Indian Guides, third.

    Trucks

    Commercial other: Green Valley Disposal, first place; Century 21 Contempo, second; Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad, third. Fire engine active: Santa Clara Fire Department. Fire engine antique: California Chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America, first; Cliff Smith, second.

    Cars

    Commercial decorated: Freedom Chiropractic, first place; Campo Di Bocce and LGHS Italian Club, second; and Ariana Rug Gallery, third. Other decorated: Los Gatos Disaster Aid Response Team, first; Oak Grove Youth Football & Cheer, second; Los Gatos Rainbow, third.
