Los Gatos Weekly-TimesNews BriefsMS council continues code update hearing At its Dec. 2 meeting, the Monte Sereno City Council continued the public hearing for revising the municipal code to a special, all-day session on Saturday, Jan. 9, at 8:30 a.m. The council recently finished going through the code, section-by-section, to clarify language and meanings, remove outdated codes and make minor changes in zoning and building codes. Study session scheduled for Villa Felice The Planning Commission continued a hearing of an application to build 36 or more homes at Villa Felice to a special study session for commissioners, neighbors and the developer on Jan. 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Developer Marshall Torre requested the session after he found himself dealing with only four planning commissioners out of seven. The application will return to the commission on Feb. 24. Council gives cops an upgrade on vehicles Town Council members approved a police department request Dec. 9 to trade in two aging vehicles for newer models. The town will trade two 1991 Mercury Sables and one '92 Sable for two used '98 Sables. The cars are assigned to the detective bureau and the personnel and training supervisor. According to the police department, two of the Sables needed repair on the transmission and steering systems. One needed body work. The contract was awarded to Hertz used car sales, who bid $28,134 for the two cars, which have an average of about 23,000 miles on the odometer.
