Pop Warner honors Crock

The Los Gatos Pop Warner Football Association has named Harley Crock of the Los Gatos Recreation Department as the league's Outstanding Business Friend for 1998.

"Harley is a tremendous asset to our community as a proponent of youth sports," said David Szafranski, athletic director for Los Gatos Pop Warner.

Steve Woshnis was named the league's Outstanding Volunteer of the Year.

LG Little League

The Los Gatos Little League is holding signups for the 1999 season. The league is open to boys and girls ages 5­12 (as of July 31, 1999). Players must provide proof of age and parents must provide a PG&E or water bill for proof of residency when they register. All players must reside within the Los Gatos Little League boundaries.

A $150 donation is requested for each player at the registration (maximum donation per family is $300). The T-ball donation is $100.

Baseball Signups

The Los Gatos Pony-Colt baseball league is holding signups for players ages 13­16. The registration fee is $150 per player, and a birth certificate and proof of residency are required at time of registration.

The league is also looking for volunteer coaches in both divisions.

Pitching Program

West Valley Community College pitching coach Burch Boehner will present a winter pitching program Wednesday evenings, Jan. 27­March 10, in the West Valley gym in Saratoga. Players ages 9­10 attend at 7 p.m., and players ages 11­12 attend at 8 p.m.
