The school collected food, clothing and books for the needy for Second Harvest Food Bank, the Salvation Army and a book drive program for Barnes & Noble and Super Crown bookstores. Parents and students contributed more than 700 pounds of food and clothing and more than 400 new or used books for the drive. Janie Meacham, a volunteer at the school, said students from the school's student council organized the events in an effort to do something for needy children.
