Los Gatos Weekly-TimesThe ProwlerAs usual, Forbes Mill Museum curator Mary Foster's 12 Days of Christmas--a.k.a. The Sounds of the Season--was a terrific holiday treat filled with eclectic sounds including a string ensemble, Celtic music, traditional Christmas carols and Chanukah songs, bluegrass, church choirs and tinkling ivories. Hats off to Mary--our sometime Mother Goose and always tireless advocate for anything fun and cultural in the community. The Prowler figures some readers may have missed these concerts, so here are a few other ideas for holiday activities that are still upcoming. From Dec. 31 through Jan. 11, the nonprofit Theatre in the Mountains is putting on a musical production the whole family can enjoy: You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. There's even a gala New Year's Eve show and party, and a catered dinner is available too. Call 353-9999 for more info. Although Charlie's pet Snoopy is a pretty precocious pooch, this cat always thought old Snoop would make a better friend than an enemy! Although most churches hold services on Christmas Eve, the Prowler hears that the Los Gatos Methodist Church, located at 19 High School Court, has a little something extra planned. An early evening family worship at 5 p.m. includes a children's play called Fumbly Bumbly Angels. Two candlelight services follow, at 8 and 11 p.m. A couple of days after Christmas--Dec. 27 to be exact--the Jewish Community Center in Los Gatos is throwing a "Chai-Tech Chanukah" dance party. According to what this cat hears, Spice Girls attire is required. For the lowdown on what that means, or other info about this bash, call 358-3636.
