Los Gatos Weekly-Times Softball, Baseball By Dick Sparrer Post-Christmas shoppers fill the malls, and the weather outside is frightful. So it must be that time of year again--time for... baseball? That's right, though more accurately it's baseball and softball. Because local leagues are holding signups for the upcoming 1999 season. Los Gatos Little League The Los Gatos Little League is holding signups for the 1999 season. The league is open to boys and girls ages 5-12 (as of July 31, 1999). Players must provide proof of age and parents must provide a PG&E or water bill for proof of residency when they register. All players must reside in the Los Gatos Little League boundaries. For more information, call the league information line at 977-3088. Pony-Colt signups The Los Gatos Pony-Colt baseball league is holding signups for players ages 13-16. The registration fee is $150 per player, and a birth certificate and proof of residency are required at time of registration. For more information, call Ira Holtzman at 356-5535. Girls softball signups The Los Gatos-Saratoga Girls Softball Association is holding signups. The registration fee is $100 per player, and youngsters must provide proof of age.
