| Christmas Tree Elegance, Valle Monte League's spectacular four-day event, featuring designer-decorated holiday trees at eight separate events, marked its 35th year Dec. 36 at the Doubletree Hotel in San Jose. Our photographer caught up with them at the Children's Party. Other events included a holiday office party, two coffees, two teas and a grand ball. The sold-out spectacle of elegance brought in some $400,000 for four licensed mental health agencies the organization supports. |

| Members of the Assistance League of Los GatosSaratoga gathered Dec. 11 for their annual Christmas lunch at the Saratoga home of Bette Loomis. As they do every year, each member brought a favorite teacup and shared the story of the cup's history in her family. |
